A few words from our satisfied customers
Thanks to Todd Petersen, and the rest of the crew that
works with Woods and Water Construction, we moved into our idea of the “perfect”
home just over a year ago. We never thought we’d be able to afford such a house,
let alone manage the building process, so I am extremely grateful to those who
helped make it such a pleasurable reality for us.
Assuming that a custom-built home was beyond our means (and hearing that you had
to be married for at least 10 years in order to survive the stress of building a
house together!), we spent nearly two years searching real estate listings and
modular home builders. Still, we could find nothing that was in our price range
AND what we really wanted until a chance encounter with Todd Petersen allowed me
to see the plans for a house his company was building. The floor plan was
exactly what we were looking for! But the cost was still just out of our reach.
Over the next number of months, Todd worked patiently with us, offering candid
and accurate assessments of what we should (and should not) consider
compromising on for the sake of budget. He found creative ways to reduce costs,
and even volunteered which portions of the project I could complete myself in
order to meet our modest budget. Once we had a number we could afford, Todd
diligently worked to help us understand the entire building process, offered us
a timeline that included all our responsibilities and due dates for them, and
repeatedly assured us that he would be responsible for getting the work done in
time and on budget.
Once work began, the process that we were told by many to avoid was actually
fun! We thoroughly enjoyed watching (and working a little) as the house began to
take shape. From site clearing to concrete pouring, framing to dry walling,
finishing to roofing, we enjoyed every step of the way! The pace Todd had set
for us to pick out fixtures and colors was very manageable, and our regular
visits to the site was always an opportunity to learn something new.
The best part of the process though, was getting to interact with Todd’s crew
and subcontractors, and watching them in action! Every person he works with was
professional, friendly, and VERY efficient as they completed their work with
pride in the quality they brought to the project. I’ll always remember Jordan
adjusting to a last-minute change we made while framing, and Chris offering to
fix one of OUR painting mistakes at no cost, just because he wanted the job to
be done right... Jason R
